Nollywood filmmaker Chinney Love Ogunje has shared her ordeal after getting robbed on her way to the airport.
Taking to her Instagram page to recount the incident, she revealed that she was on her way to the airport when she met a tout who was begging her for her. She refused to give him, and to her surprise, he stole her side mirrors and said there was nothing she could do as she didn’t want to give him money.
The movie filmmaker revealed that she is still in shock as she questioned what is the way forward. She stated that she has never been an advocate for Japa; she had an opportunity to get a U.S. passport through her dad years ago but wasn’t interested because she was okay with being a Nigerian. Now, she weeps for this country, which has blessed her so much but is now causing her pain.
Chinney added that she is tired of hoping and praying for Nigeria as there’s so much hunger that the citizens aren’t safe.
“I was robbed on my way to the airport; this tout was begging me for money when I didn’t have to give him. He stole my side mirrors and said there was nothing I could do as I didn’t want to give him money.
Broad daylight oo with a lot of Nigerians just staring at me as I was robbed.
Still in shock….. what is the way forward in this country?
Never been an advocate for Japa; in fact, I had an opportunity to get a U.S. passport through my dad years ago, but I wasn’t interested cos I was okay just being a Nigerian…..
Now I weep for this country! The country that has blessed me so much is still the same country giving me pain!
Nigerians have been silenced not to protest, so how do we demand our rights?
This is so sad! I am tired of hoping and praying for Nigeria; There’s so much hunger now in town that we citizens are no longer safe anymore!
If this is not addressed soon, I fear for what’s to come”.
In February, reality TV star Yvonne Godswill was involved in a robbery incident. Taking to her Instagram story, she shared a picture of her bleeding foot as she expressed that she had just been robbed.
Last year, Ruby Ojiakor, recounted how robbers stormed a plaza where she kept her cars and carted away with valuables, leaving many cars severely damaged. Luckily for her, her car was the only one untouched, and this is because she serves a Living God. A speechless Ruby said she couldn’t believe the miracle as she hadn’t seen such before and vowed to continue serving him.
