Nigerians who are protesting against hunger and bad governance in Abuja, on Thursday converged at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
They began to gather at the stadium from 6am chanting and singing.
The protesters also carried placards with different messages directed to the government.
This is in compliance with a court order restricting them to the facility.
Present at the stadium are heavily armed security operatives.
Activists and groups had declared the protest in response to the economic hardship.
The protests are expected to last for 10 days.
