Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, better known as DJ Cuppy, is prioritising family following her grandmother’s death.
On her Instagram page, Cuppy shared photos of her and her younger sister, Temi Otedola, spending time with their paternal grandmother, who resides in Epe. She revealed that despite the death of her maternal grandmother, she is grateful that she still has the privilege of spending time with her other grandma.
She stated that regardless of where life takes her, she stays connected to her roots as it keeps her grounded. Cuppy disclosed that her paternal grandmother is 92 years old.
“This year, I lost one grandma, but SO thankful to still spend time with my other Grandma in our hometown, Epe. Regardless of where life takes me, staying connected to my roots keeps me grounded. Grandma Epe is 92 years young! God is Good”.
Kemi Filani reported on Tuesday, last week, that Cuppy announced the death of her maternal grandmother, who was aged 90. Sharing the heartbreaking news on her Instagram story, Cuppy prayed for her soul to rest in peace as she noted how her grandmother was the one who shaped her mother, who in turn made her who she is today. Cuppy stated that her grandmother was a force to be reckoned with and had lived a life.
She later penned an appreciation post to the public for their love and support. She stated that as a Christian, she finds comfort in knowing that there is life after death.
Following her demise, Cuppy announced she was no longer searching for new friends. The disc jockey shared photos of her mother, sisters and boxer, Anthony Joshua, from her grandmother’s burial ceremony in their hometown, describing them as her inner circles and trībe. She made it known that she wasn’t looking for any more friends.
