Highlife singer Flavour shared some candid moments in a recent interview about his views on whether he can be classified as an Afrobeats artist or not.
The interviewer asked Flavour how he feels when he’s not mentioned among top Afrobeats artists, and his gave a very witty response.
Flavour responded by saying that his genre of music is ‘African’ music, and as such, he can be categorized under Afrobeats.
Going forward, Flavour said that the African entertainment scene needs to push forward other genres, as there is too much focus on Afrobeats.
He also said that Afrobeats should just be categorized as being part of Afrobeats, as there’s so much more that Africa has to offer.
Flavour mentioned some of his top African artists, and popular singer Diamond was at the top of his list.
The reason behind Flavour chiding the entertainment scene was because he felt that they’re limiting the music industry by only focusing on Afrobeats.
