Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has reacted to rumours of her senior colleague, Omotola Ekeinde’s husband, Mathew Ekeinde, buying her a new car.
As Destiny celebrated her birthday a few days back, rumours made rounds that the actress had received a luxurious car as a birthday gift from Omotola’s husband. The rumours further claimed that Omotola was aware of their friendship, as photos of Destiny and Mathew, taken years back, reemerged online.
Now speaking out, Destiny debunked the report as she stated that 99.9% of everything she has achieved was on her own. She questioned if men give women money as she made it known that she hasn’t benefitted from any man.
Speaking on the viral photo, Destiny noted how the photo was taken four years back, and since then, she hasn’t seen the Captain. She revealed that she took the photo with him while on a flight where he was the pilot. She stated that the Captain didn’t even know her and had requested the photo out of respect for her senior colleague.
“I don’t need anybody to tell me that God has been faithful to me. There is something that has been happening, and it is really cràzy. I didn’t want to talk about it when I heard some nuisances: people who haven’t been able to feed themselves and are so jealous that they can’t withhold the blessings of God in someone else’s life, and you expect to grow. I didn’t want to talk about this cause I felt it was non-relevant.
Does men dey give money? Because if men dey give money, I don’t know o. The last time I checked 99.9 per cent of what I achieved in my life, I did it myself with my full chest. I don’t know why some people are bitter. You know most of my birthdays I always buy a car, because I like to change cars every year. Some bitter people are pained that I bought a car that would shake them; that’s why they brought out an old picture of me with Omotola’s husband that I took over four years ago. How did it happen? I was on a flight, and he was the pilot, so some people were snapping pictures with me, and he was like, What’s going on there? They told him I was an actress, and he looked at me closely, and I told him we should take a selfie, and he obliged. Nothing was there. We went down and took a selfie, and that was it. From that day till now, where I wan see the man? Wetin concern me”.
Last year, Destiny Etiko had sent a message to her colleagues, who wanted her dead.The movie star questioned why they disliked or wanted to see her progress. She further questioned who would take care of her mother, handle her responsibilities, and answer her name if she was dead.
Early this year, she recounted how God delivered her from severe neck pain, which she woke up with. Being spiritual, Destiny Etiko believed she had been attacked and had to speak to her pastor for prayers as well as her mother’s and friend’s pastors. Fortunately for her, after fervently praying for healing, God healed her from the pain and made her whole.
